Enterprise Development & small scale Entrepreneurship Service unit was established in July 2016 in order to assist and encourage the economic growth and income generation in rural areas of Pakistan. These services will surely improve the performance of the small scale entrepreneurs, their access to markets, and the ability to compete as per market needs. This initiative will help to create employment opportunities, to generate income and contribute to economic development and growth for rural & skilled communities. We have trained more 2100 than small level enterpenours across all over Pakistan with the community development projects of reputed NPOs & corporate sector.
The vital purpose of provision of Enterprise Development is to improve the performance of small enterprises in Rural areas of Pakistan by creating groups or clusters of skilled labor called Business Development Groups or Common Interest Groups (CIGs) under the guidance of competent BDOs (Business Development Officers) which include both men and women to cater to both gender groups. This is a means to achieve higher economic growth and employment, reduce poverty, and meet social objectives.
GUS livelihoods professionals are dedicated to providing entrepreneurs from rural areas with the necessary guidance enhancing their capoacities to enable them to develop and flourish sustainably in the longer run & to enhance linkages development of entrepreneurs with key market stakeholders.
BDS Training Courses and facilities
Since the BDS program is affiliated with the vocational training unit of GUS, almost all the training courses offered here are often linked to industrial and market linkages as well as entrepreneur through the specialized Business management skills training. They are also designed to suit specific business needs.
The training content for Business & Enterprise Development (EDT) includes introduction to business, types of business including trade, production services, business cycle, marketing and market survey, resource mobilization, profit making techniques, Personal Skills, etc.
Women in Business Development:
Women’s entrepreneurship development is essential for the realization of developmental goals such as economic growth and liberation. With the introduction of micro-credit and the provision of business development services, the current business environment for both rural and urban women has been changing for the better.
Business development & Enterprise Development services sector helps skilled rural women by:
- Developing programs for promoting women entrepreneurs
- Support programs targeted at changing the “gender bias” mind-sets and social and business cultures discriminating against women
- Engage women and women’s business organizations in different economic policy making processes
