Social Mobilization Program (SMP)

Social Mobilization is one of the thematic working area of GUS; serving the prime objective of GUS i.e. Capacity building for the purpose of developing expertise through fostering and upgrading the technical as well as managerial skills of professionals from divergent organizations as well as community members at grass root level.
The activities of the Program are most pronounced in the field of social mobilization, participatory development, rural development, micro-finance, human resource management/ development and organizational development for rural communities.
Social Mobilization Program offers following training programs:

  • Community Management Training Program
  • Micro Finance Training Program
  • Staff capacity Building Trainings/Workshops
  • Orientation Training Workshop
  • Disaster Risk Management (DRM)
  • Social Mobilization Trainings (LMST/CMST, Conflict Management, Team Building, Record keeping & Financial Management)

In addition to the in-house training, On Job Training (OJT) facilities and opportunities for conducting field based study and research are also offered under Social Mobilization Program (SMP). Various professionals from the non-profit sector, donor agencies, government organizations, corporate sector benefitted from the vast scale of GUS training and human resource management services.

The strength of the program lies in the institute’s enormous consortium of exceedingly proficient and knowledgeable professional trainers. Apart from the in-house expertise, the Institute maintains a portfolio of expert trainers from external organizations, such as academics, research and development professionals having expertise in an array of subjects.

Methodology

The combination of methods including interactive lectures, role plays, group discussions, pictorial handouts, review technique, brain storming, case studies, practical exercises, exposure visits and group work makes the training course distinctive.
